CORE ATHLETICS COVID-19 UPDATES PAGE
Here is how we are keeping you safe!
Core Athletics remains committed to providing the industry’s best training experiences while mitigating the spread of COVID-19. We continue to prioritize the health, safety, and wellbeing of our athletes, instructors, coaches, and families.
We recognize this situation is still fluid and recommendations for athletic training have changed rapidly over the past few months. We continue to closely monitor guidance from local and national health authorities and will update our procedures for any of our services (camps, weekly on-site classes, etc.) as needed to adhere to the most effective health and safety standards.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) currently recommends unvaccinated participants (instructors, athletes, coaches) to wear a mask for indoor activity (or whenever social distancing cannot be enforced). Fully-vaccinated people may resume indoor and outdoor activities without a mask, except where required by local regulations or law. This recommendation will be followed for all Core Athletics Services.
We believe in the many benefits of summer camp — from community and learning to friendship — and because we know you are counting on us for an enriching camp experience, we are doing everything we can to safely operate this summer.
With the current CDC and state recommendations, our summer camps will operate as normal with a few enhancements to sanitation procedures along with recommended precautions. All of our camps will follow:
Recommended mask wearing for unvaccinated athletes, instructors, coaches, and family/spectators
Social distancing when possible
Frequent water & sanitation breaks
Signage promoting everyday protective measures
Enhanced equipment cleaning
Before camp self-screening upon arrival
Sanitation stations available to camp participants
Since our camps are hosted at a variety of locations, each camp may have varying additional precautions in place. For our overnight camps, we’ll be working closely with university officials to adhere to and promote campus safety requirements and any additional precautions the university recommends. For our on-site Buddy camps, Private Camps and Stunt Clinics, we’ll be working closely with the head coach to adhere to the school’s current guidelines. Event-specific precautions will be communicated to the head coaches of participating teams prior to the start of camp.
WEEKLY TUMBLING & STUNTING CLASSES:
We understand the expectation to provide engaging, unique, high-quality athletic training in our weekly tumbling and stunting classes, so we are doing everything we can to provide safe training environments for everyone involved.
With the current CDC and state recommendations, our weekly classes will operate as normal with a few additional company procedures before and during classes along with any additional procedures required by the school. All of our weekly classes we’ll be following:
Recommended mask wearing for unvaccinated athletes, coaches, and instructors
Social distancing when possible
Frequent water & sanitation breaks
Before class screening upon arrival
We’ll be working closely with the head coach to adhere to the school’s current guidelines. Class-specific company precautions are communicated to the head coach prior to the first day of class. As we know the current recommendations could change swiftly at any time, changes to our weekly classes COVID-19 procedures will be communicated to the head coach directly.
As we navigate these challenging times, our first priority continues to be the health, safety, and wellbeing of our athletes, instructors, coaches, and families. We are pleased to have the opportunity to work face-to-face again and warmly welcome you back to Core Athletics services! We’ll continue to update this page for further changes to our COVID-19 procedures. We appreciate your continued interest and support in Core Athletics.
NOVEMBER 2020 - UPDATE REGARDING EMERGENCY ORDER
Due to the recent announcement made by Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), along with the latest update from the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), all school sports activities (practices and contests) are suspended effective immediately through at least December 8 or until these new orders are amended.
This means all Core Athletics weekly class services/practices will be put on pause until December 8, 2020 or until these new orders are amended. Our office will remain open to continue administrative operations and provide additional support to our coaches, athletes, and instructors during this time.
We have attached the latest announcements here:
We will continue to update you throughout this time as we prepare our return to weekly classes December 8. We will be communicating these updates via email to all involved.
We want to support our coaches and athletes during this time and ensure our classes are safe environments to return to. We appreciate your understanding of this ongoing, fluid situation and your continued interest in our weekly class services.
As we continue to navigate COVID-19 and provide safe athletic training opportunities during this difficult time, we will continue to require face coverings at all of our classes and events. Participants and instructors must undergo an on-site check-in and screening before participating in any of our services.
In creating safe service environments, we have closely monitored and continue to follow guidelines provided by the World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, National Federation of State High School Associations, and most especially guidelines provided by the and the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
Specifically for our weekly classes, athletes and instructors must stay socially-distanced and wear secure face coverings. We recommend cloth masks that fit snugly to the face in order to reduce adjusting during physical activity. Every class will be equipped with an Instructor Bin that will contain supplemental sanitizer, wipes, disposable masks (only to be used when a secure cloth mask is not available), and thermometers to assist in on-site screening. Each class is required to pause every 30-minutes for a Sanitation Break. This means every participant must wash or sanitize their hands before returning to classwork.
In addition to our in-class precautions, we have also taken measures administratively to keep our instructors, employees, and families safe. We have implemented a new E-waiver for parents to submit from home before their athletes participate in class. We have also implemented a touch-free check-in and screening process.
The safety and well-being of our athletes, instructors, coaches, employees, and families are our first priority. As we know this situation continues to be fluid, we will make adjustments to our precautions and action plans as new recommendations and guidelines are provided.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued interest in Core Athletics services!
In our continued effort in prioritizing the health and well-being of athletes, families, coaches, and instructors across the state, we will require face coverings at all of our events and participants must undergo an on-site, check-in screening before entering practice/training sites.
In creating safe environments for our services, we have continued to monitor and follow guidelines provided by the World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, National Federation of State High School Associations and the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
As we navigate through these times, we want to continue providing exceptional summer camp experiences for athletes of all levels. We have completely revamped all our summer camp instruction to accommodate social distancing guidelines. Each camp will have accessible sanitation stations for attendees to use. Additionally, to better accommodate teams financially this summer, we have developed Group Rate Pricing which is now listed under our available camp options.
This is an exceptionally exciting time as we announce our first Virtual Camp, bringing athletes and teams all the best experiences of our overnight camps straight to your living room.
We will continue making decisions for our upcoming events based on the information and guidelines provided to keep all Core Athletics services safe and healthy.
Thank you for your continued interest and cooperation.
Throughout these hard times, Core Athletics remains committed to athlete development, coaches support and instructor growth while keeping everyone involved safe and healthy. As we navigate these times, we will continuously strive to provide the best athletic training experiences while following guidelines provided by the World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, National Federation of State High School Associations and the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
During this time, we have explored and will continue to creatively develop new innovative ways to connect, develop and grow athletic training for future athlete, coaches and instructor success. This is an exciting time as we trail blaze new transformational training experiences for athletes across the state.
We will continue preparing for our summer services as planned, however, we will make changes as necessary to follow new guidelines to keep attendees safe and healthy. As we approach our summer services, we will communicate changes to registration options and event details on our website and/or social media pages.
We will continue making decisions for our upcoming events based on the information and guidelines provided to keep all Core Athletics Services safe and healthy.
At Core Athletics, we continuously strive to provide the best athletic training experiences while delivering our industry’s best practices in keeping our athletes, coaches, instructors and families safe and healthy. We believe it is our role and responsibility during this time to prioritize the health and well-being of our athletes, instructors, coaches and families while supporting local health officials as they work to contain the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
We have been carefully monitoring current events and preparing for the potential impact the Coronavirus may have on our weekly classes and upcoming events. As we navigate through this time, we will continue to make decisions based on the information given to us by the World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, National Federation of State High School Associations, and the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
As recommended by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, we will be following community mitigation strategies to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. At this time, we do not have any classes or events planned to host 100 people or more in shared spaces within the immediate future. However, based off of recent events, school closures, and the new releases of guidelines/recommendations from health officials, we plan to navigate this dynamic situation community-by-community and event-by-event. As this situation is fluid, we will remain cautious and responsive and make adjustments to events as necessary.
For any of our upcoming classes and events we are encouraging our athletes, instructors, coaches and families to visit online resources such as https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/ and https://www.cdc.gov for information on personal hygiene practices and preventative measures to keep all Core Athletics services safe and healthy.
We will continue to update our instructors and coaches if any changes are made to our upcoming events.
