Organizational Background:
Core Athletics Summer Camps is an exceptionally unique part of our company. Our summer camps are known for their high energy, fun, collegiate-style material and unforgettable experiences created by our inspirational, leader-like staff. We offer residential (overnight) camps held on university campuses throughout the Michigan and northern-Ohio area as well as Private/Buddy camps on high school and middle school campuses throughout the state of Michigan. Some camps are expected to host upwards of 500 athletes.
We are looking for experienced, passionate and goal-oriented summer camp instructors to work our summer camps and clinics!
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Core Athletics (CA) Summer Camp Instructor you are among an elite group of cheerleading athletes/instructors from across the country. In this role, you are the heart and soul of our summer camps, residential camps, and clinics as you work hands-on with high school and middle school cheer teams with varying skill levels. Candidates who can tumble are preferred, however tumbling is not required to be considered for this role. All Summer Camp Instructors will go through a training program to learn, demonstrate, and perfect camp material and programming the Core Athletics way.
For this role, we are looking for instructors who have an exceptional background in cheerleading and coaching abilities. A background in collegiate cheerleading or high-level cheerleading is preferred. To ensure the safety of our athletes and instructors, a background check will be required to work in this environment (with high school and middle school student-athletes).
As an Instructor, you are an expert in all of the material we provide at camp and deliver exceptional coaching to every athlete, regardless of skill level. Throughout the summer experience, you will be expected to demonstrate and teach new stunts, cheers, chants, and dances as well as facilitate activities and team bonding exercises.
Program Schedule:
Program Start Date: June 1, 2024
Camps Begin: July 8, 2024
End Date: August 31, 2024
Time Off Request: Must provide time off request for June 1-August 31 time period by June 1.
Required Qualifications:

At least 4 years of experience in cheerleading (background in collegiate cheerleading or high-level cheerleading preferred)

Demonstrated ability to teach stunts and camp material at a high caliber yet fun and interactive way

Pass a background check

High School Diploma or equivalent - By June 2024

Reliable means of transportation (to and from all work-related events)

Excellent presentation skills/public speaking skills

Responsibilities:
-
Attend all 1-day training events and work week training to learn, demonstrate, and perfect camp material and programming

Act and conduct yourself as a leader within the cheerleading industry both inside and outside of camps

Demonstrate knowledge of camp material to high school and middle school student-athletes

Lead camp-wide or small group activities
-
Be an expert on the ins and outs of the camp schedule

Provide positive coaching instruction

Provide support to athletes and fellow staff members during camp (Team-Player Attitude)

NOTE: This job requires 8-12 hours per day standing, walking and performing skills/tasks.
