Core Athletics Summer Camps is an exceptionally unique part of our company. Our summer camps are known for their high energy, fun, colligate-style material and unforgettable experiences created by our inspirational, leader-like staff. Our camps are residential (overnight) camps held on university campuses throughout the Michigan and northern-Ohio area. Some camps expected to host upwards of 500 athletes.
We are looking for experienced, passionate and goal-oriented summer camp instructors to work our summer camps and clinics!
Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Core Athletics (CA) Summer Camp Instructor you are among an elite group of cheerleading athletes/instructors from across the country. In this role, you are the heart and soul of our summer camps and clinics as you work hands-on with high school and middle school cheer teams with varying skill levels. As an Instructor, you are an expert in all of the material we provide at camp and deliver exceptional coaching to every athlete. Throughout any given camp experience, you will be expected to teach new stunts, cheers, chants, and dances as well as facilitate activities and team bonding exercises.
For this role, we are looking for instructors who have an exceptional background in cheerleading and coaching abilities. A background with collegiate cheerleading is preferred. To ensure the safety of our athletes and instructors, a background check will be required to work in this environment (with high school and middle school student-athletes).
Each summer camp instructor is required to attend our three spring training dates and our summer “work week” to learn about instructor expectations, camp material, and more. Our camps are usually held early-end of July to early-August. You will be expected to have reliable means of transportation to and from all trainings, camps and clinics.
At least 4 years of experience in cheerleading (background in collegiate cheerleading preferred)
Demonstrated ability to teach stunts and camp material at a high caliber yet fun and interactive way
Pass a background check
High School Diploma or equivalent
Reliable means of transportation (to and from all trainings and camps)
Passion for people and student-athlete development
Work well in both small and large groups
Ability to facilitate stunts, cheers, chants, and dances in front of small and large groups
Work well with high school and middle school student-athletes
Strong verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn
Excellent facilitation skills
Any past experience in coaching is a bonus
Attend all spring training dates and work week to learn camp expectations and material
Act and conduct yourself as a leader within the cheerleading industry both inside and outside of camps
Know, facilitate and demonstrate camp material to high school and middle school student-athletes
Be an expert on the ins and outs of the camp and camp schedule
Provide positive coaching instruction
Provide support to athletes and fellow staff members during camp (Team-Player Attitude)
Staff pay: $290 per residential camp
Buddy Camps (2-Day/12-Hour Camp): $162
Private Camps (1-Day/6 Hour Camp): $81
